Sri Lanka vs India: 1st ODI match weather report at R. Premadasa Stadium

After winning the T20I series 3-0, India will play the ODI series against Sri Lanka more confidently and enthusiastically. The 3-match ODI series starts on August 2 and will conclude on August 7. Senior players will be a part of the team this time, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul. The matches will be full of fun as the players from both teams will get a chance to play these matches before the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. 

Sri Lanka batters are in great form, and it's about time they take up the responsibility for the team. The opening was good during the T20Is, but the middle order collapsed, costing them the match. Meanwhile, the bowlers are performing well, which is a positive sign for the Lankan Lions. 

Pitch Report:

The pitch of R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, is known to favour the batter more. However, the Pacers will be able to sweep by swinging the ball due to overcast conditions. Moreover, the toss will also play an important role in the match. Hence, any captain who wins the toss should look to bowl first, considering the DLS method, which will come into play in the 2nd innings.

The weather in Colombo doesn't seem in favour of the match since heavy rains are on the cards. Until night, the weather forecast predicts heavy rain. The rain also played spoilsport in the T20Is, and the same thing can happen in the ODI series. So captains should take their luck factor with them while going out for the toss. Since the series is short, fans should hope for no rain, or else if the match gets washed out, there will be only two games left to decide the results of the series.
