The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hosted the annual Naman Awards ceremony in Mumbai on Saturday, February 1. A total of 27 awards were distributed among senior to junior-level cricketers. The most significant of them was the Col. CK Nayadu Lifetime Achievement Award given to Sachin Tendulkar for his marvelous achievements in the sport.
Undoubtedly, the best cricketer of his generation, Tendulkar received a standing ovation from everyone who was present during the ceremony. The current best player on the Indian team, Jasprit Bumrah, received the Polly Umrigar Award for Best International Cricketer. In the women's category, Smriti Mandhana won the Best International Cricketer award, while Asha Sobhna won the Best International Debut award.
