RR vs MI: 3 things MI must do to defeat table-toppers RR in today's clash

The epic clash between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) is set to take place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Mumbai Indians' performance in this season has been average while RR is ruling the IPL like never before. They are in the top position with six wins in seven matches while MI is in the 7th position with just three wins in seven matches. This will be a tough away game for the MI team as they will look forward to giving their best and clinching victory over the table toppers. As per stats, MI hasn't won a single game in Jaipur after 2012. Hence, it becomes even more tougher for MI to win the match considering the history. 

Let's discuss the three things MI needs to right to win against RR in IPL 2024:

1. Need to hammer RR bowlers in the powerplay

MI's strength lies in their top order and Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have been giving them proper starts during the powerplays. Hence, against RR as well, the batters need to hammer the bowlers in the likes of Trent Boult and Avesh Khan which will create extra pressure on the hosts. If they can break Boult's confidence in the first half of the game, they'll get to a good total. 

2. SKY performance has to be impactful

Suryakumar Yadav has been a consistent scorer for MI in the past few years. However, SKY's consistency in this season has dripped a bit due to which the team lost the match against CSK in Mumbai. Thus, SKY's contribution will be valuable for the team if they want to win the match against RR. SKY's confident shots will help the MI's batting line-up gain motivation and perform well. 

3. MI bowlers need to be economical during death overs 

Considering the involvement of Jos Buttler towards the end of the innings, the bowlers are hit all over the park. If the MI bowlers will be able to stop the thrashing during the death overs, it will be really helpful to the team. The bowlers have to be economical throughout the last 5-6 overs which will help them stop the extra runs which RR might score.
