Following their defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their most recent match, the Riyan Parag-led RR are currently ranked tenth in the IPL Points Table.  However, following their season-opening loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore, Ajinkya Rahane's KKR is currently in ninth place. The goal of the forthcoming game is for both teams to secure their first victory of the year.

The action moves to Guwahati for their season's second games, where the weather could make a difference. Guwahati has seen high daytime temperatures and cool nighttime temperatures, which may cause dew to appear late in the game.

Between 56 and 72 percent humidity is expected to be experienced throughout match hours. The likelihood of rain is quite low, and the sky will be generally clear during the game.

A high scoring game is anticipated due to the batting-friendly pitch in Guwahati. Bowlers are predicted to have a difficult time, particularly in the second innings when dew may play a significant role, while pacers may receive some initial support.
