Indian Cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir recently unveiled his all-time India 11 and made some shocking exclusions from his team. The former Indian opener left out the current Indian team coach Rohit Sharma from his squad. Rohit recently led the Indian team to the finals of the ODI World Cup 2023.

However, what caught the attention of most fans was Gambhir picking MS Dhoni as the captain of the team. It was shocking because Gambhir was often spotted taking wild shots at the former Indian captain. He has been heard many times saying that people give all the credit for the 2011 ODI World Cup victory to only Dhoni. Whereas he believes that his 97-run knock doesn’t get much recognition.

No Bumrah and Shami in Gambhir's all-time India XI

Coming back to his all-time 11, Gambhir picked himself and Virender Sehwag as the opening pair. Both players have produced some iconic partnerships for India in the Test and ODI formats. The former left-hander picked Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli as his middle-order batters.

He kept Yuvraj Singh as the only all-round option in the squad. Dhoni as the captain and wicketkeeper in the team. He decided to keep Anil Kumble and R Ashwin as his two spin bowling options. However, he only took 2 pacers in the team Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan. It was quite shocking as he didn’t include India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the team. Mohammed Shami also didn’t find any place in the squad.
