India's red-ball captain Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh were blessed with a baby boy in Mumbai on November 15. As per reports, Rohit didn't travel to Australia with the Indian team due to his wife's pregnancy.

As the baby arrived before the first Test match, Rohit can now go to Australia to take the charge of the team. The upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy starts on November 22 in Perth. This is an important series since India lost the series against New Zealand, 0-3.

The Kiwis outplayed the Indian team in every aspect of the game and hence whitewashed the series. The Men in Blue are in huge trouble after the loss as they will have to win against Australia to qualify for the World Test Championship 2025 finals. Rohit's absence in the first match would have been a huge trouble for the team as change in captaincy in every one game doesn't sit well with many teams.

Australia are waiting to beat India in the upcoming series since they haven't had a chance to take the trophy home from the last four series. India have been dominating Australia in every department and will look to continuing it in the BGT 2024.

Kl Rahul, Virat Kohli are fit again ahead of 1st Test match

On November 15 morning, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul left the field early due to injuries which scared the Indian crowd. As per reports, the players suffered an injury and left the field for better assistance from the physio. Moreover, when the intra squad game started after the net session, Kohli and Rahul looked perfectly fit.

Even at the final session, Kohli batted for a good one hour behind the day was called off. He was accompanied by Rishabh Pant who continued with his aggressive batting approach during the game. However, he was bowled twice during the intra squad game.
