While nothing has been confirmed yet, reports suggest that Rohit is set to miss the first game of the BGT series for personal reasons. This is an important series for India, and as per Gavaskar, having two different captains in one series will have a huge impact on the players.

"We have been reading that Rohit Sharma will not play in the first Test, perhaps he will not play in the second as well. If this is the case, then I say that, right now, the Indian selection committee should say that 'if you have to rest, rest, if there are personal reasons then look at them. But if you are missing two-thirds of the matches then you should go for this tour only as a player. We will make the vice-captain the captain of this tour'," said Gavaskar as quoted by SportsTak.

Coming in favour of Rohit, Finch said, "I disagree with Sunny on that totally. Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian cricket team. If you need to stay at home because your wife is having a baby... that's such a beautiful moment... and you take all the time that you need in that regard," Finch told ESPNcricinfo.

Rohit's wife, Ritka Sajdeh, responded to Finch's post with a 'salute' emoji on what he said. Well, this isn't the first time Ritika has done something like this. She has always strongly responded against the trollers, showing her love and compassion for her husband.

BGT series to start on November 22

The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 is set to start on November 22 in Perth between Australia and India. After a humiliating defeat against New Zealand, India's chances of qualification to the WTC finals depend on the BGT series.

While India have dominated the Aussies in their homeland in the last few years, winning against them this time seems a bit difficult. However, the young Indian team will look forward to the biggest challenge in the upcoming times.
