Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya is undoubtedly the best choice for all-rounder ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. He has been consistently batting and bowling in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. As per reports, in the recent meeting held by the selectors, it was stated that to secure a place in the T20 World Cup squad, Hardik needs to bowl continuously.

The meeting was held between the head coach Rahul Dravid, chairman of the selection committee Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai last week. Hardik's performance so far has been scrutinized and his bowling performance is under talks. For the remainder of the IPL 2024, Hardik will have to work hard in both the batting and bowling departments to secure a place in the World Cup squad

Hardik hasn't played any International matches post the ODI World Cup 2023. He was out of the team due to injury and chose to rest until he was fully fit. His current IPL isn't going as expected but Hardik's known for making comebacks, so hopefully, he will play well in the rest of the tournament to be a part of the World Cup.

Selectors might include Shivam Dube in the World Cup squad

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)'s Shivam Dube is in marvellous form in the ongoing IPL 2024. Known as a spin monster, Shivam has quite an amazing record against the spin attack. However, in this season, he is seen as a strong batter who likes to go after the pacers as well. So far, he is in the 5th position of the Orange Cap and will be looking forward to winning it.

The only issue with Shivam's selection is his bowling. Since he plays as an impact player for CSK, his bowling skills aren't highlighted as of now. The only way Dube can get a place in the World Cup squad is if he bowls well in the IPL 2024. Owing to this, the selectors are eyeing Hardik Pandya as he's the prime seam bowling all-rounder India can rely on in the upcoming tournament.
