In what seems to be a big development, the Indian cricket authorities have reportedly shifted the PBKS vs Mumbai Indians clash in IPL 2025 from Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamsala to Maharashtra’s Mumbai. The major decision has been taken in the aftermath of the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindoor’. The match was earlier scheduled to be played on May 11 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

Notably, in the early hours of May 7, Wednesday, the Indian Army launched precision strikes on nine terror spots in Pakistan and the Pakistan-administered Kashmir. It also included the camps of major terror outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke.

BCCI looks forward to clarity on the PBKS vs DC Dharamsala game

The reports suggest that BCCI will not be holding this match in MI’s home ground, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It might be shifted either to the Brabourne Stadium or the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is also in constant contact with India’s Union Government. They have also asked the Government to provide a clear picture of the upcoming PBKS vs Delhi Capitals fixture, which is also scheduled to be played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

However, the BCCI has yet to release any official cable, depending on their communication with the Indian government. The reports and sources also understand that further matches might also be under consideration owing to the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, a lot of former Indian cricketers, including the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Shikhar Dhawan, took to their official X handles (formerly Twitter) to praise the Indian Army for a retaliation to the cruel terror attack in Pahalgam last month on April 22, which killed 26 innocent Indian civilians.

“India takes a stand against terrorism. Bharrat Mata ki Jai,” wrote Shikhar Dhawan in his X post.

“Fearless in unity. Boundless in strength. India’s shield is her people. There’s no room for terrorism in this world. We’re ONE TEAM! Jai Hind,” read Sachin Tendulkar’s X post.
