The legendary Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently hailed the star USA batter Aaron Jones for the latter’s blunt and fearless statement on being asked about the team’s approach against India. Notably, the co-hosts, the USA are set to take on India in their third group-stage match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Meanwhile, star USA batter Aaron Jones was in a pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Rohit Sharma’s men. He was asked about the USA’s approach in the game against India.

“India are a good team, but we don’t want to play names,” said Aaron Jones in the pre-match press conference.

This ‘fearless approach’ of the star USA batter left the Indian legend Ravichandran Ashwin awestruck and the latter didn’t hesitate in heaping praises on the USA batter. Ashwin came up with the praising remarks for Aaron Jones, with a post from his official X handle (formerly Twitter).

“A sportsman’s hunger to compete and be the best brings out this attitude and that is something we must admire,” wrote Ashwin in his X post sharing a screengrab from the video of Aaron Jones in which he made the same statement.

Coming back to Aaron Jones, he also came up with a ‘warning tone’ while answering the same question about the USA’s mindset while facing India.

“We are going to come hard at India. We want to play every game hard, play fearless cricket, and come out on top. We have been training hard and playing well as a team over the last couple of weeks. We are looking to do the same tomorrow,” he said.

“I do not want to say anything about that. Looking at this wicket, maybe Jasprit Bumrah will be a challenge to face. Let us see how it goes. We do not know how this wicket plays,” he added later.
