The league stage games in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025 have finally ended. In the last round, the Jammu and Kashmir team refused to start the match and accused Baroda of changing the pitch for their own benefit. Baroda were the home team, and they had the chance to make changes on the pitch. However, the hosts refused the allegations and made it clear that the pitch was untouched.

This incident happened on day three of the last game at Reliance Stadium. As per the reports carried out by ESPN Cricinfo, the game was delayed by one hour and 25 minutes as heavy discussions were happening between the players and the management. After the intervention of the match referee, Arjan Kripal Singh, the game finally started at 10.55 AM.

Later, the game continued for an hour to adjust the delay. Jammu and Kashmir went on to beat Baroda and qualified for the knockouts. They just required one point to qualify, but winning the game made it easier. Baroda's target was 365 runs, which looked impossible. J&K emerged as the better team, as they showed unity and won the game.

We have lodged an official complaint: Brig. Anil Gupta

Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association administrator Brig. Anil Gupta lodged a complaint against the umpiring in the previous game against Mumbai. While J&K beat the Ajinkya Rahane-led Mumbai team by five wickets, it was the umpiring that was a major upset for them as several wrong decisions were made during the game.

"Yes, we have lodged an official complaint with the BCCI about the standard of umpiring in the match. We have pointed out a couple of decisions that went against the J&K team: Abid Mushtaq being given out lbw (off Mohit Avasthi) in the first inning, when the ball seemed to have been pitched outside the leg stump, and Mumbai's middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer being given not out despite having clearly edged the ball. Since I was present at the ground and watching the match, I was dismayed by some of the umpiring decisions, which were quite appalling," said Brig. Anil Gupta.
