PCB announces 17-member squad for two Test matches against Bangladesh starting August 21

For their upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 17-member squad which is set to begin at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

After a disappointing T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, Pakistan is all set to begin their cricket season with a bang. For the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the 17-member squad. There is one shocker for the fans. Saud Shakeel has been appointed as the new vice-captain of the Pakistan team for the upcoming series. 

The Test series will start on August 21 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The second game will be played at the National Stadium, Karachi, from August 30. The Bangladesh team are yet to announce their squad for the tour amid the political unrest in the country. 

Pakistan squad: Shan Masood (captain), Saud Shakeel (vice-captain), Aamir Jamal (subject to Fitness), Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper) and Shaheen Shah Afridi

Bangladesh's travel plans delayed by 48 hours

Bangladesh Cricket team was set to travel to Pakistan on Wednesday for their 2-match Test series. However, due to political unrest in the country, their travel has been delayed by 48 hours, as informed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). They are in constant connection with the PCB, and the ICC is doing everything they can in the favour of the series.

"The BCB has confirmed to the PCB their men's 'A' cricket team's departure for Islamabad has been delayed by 48 hours due to unforeseen circumstances. The BCB and PCB have been in regular contact for the past two days and will continue to work together on the revised tour itinerary with further details to follow in due course," said PCB's statement.
