PBKS vs RCB Dream11 Prediction Photograph: (X)
The IPL 2025 has reached its business end of a long season, with four teams in the fray to win the title. Table toppers Punjab Kings (PBKS) will face off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the first qualifier match of the tournament set to be played on Thursday. The winner of the game will head into the finals to be played on 3rd June. The loser will play the second qualifier against the winner of the Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians encounter.
Shreyas Iyer has made PBKS into a formidable outfit this season, with nine wins from 14 games this season. Punjab’s opening pair of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh have been at their best during the course of the season at the top of the order. The middle-order, consisting of Nehal Wadhera, skipper Iyer himself, and Marcus Stoinis, has done well at various points of the season. The bowling will be hampered with Marco Jansen heading for international duties and the fitness concerns of Yuzvendra Chahal.
Having won all their away games this season, RCB will be heading into the first qualifier with huge confidence. Jitesh Sharma, as the stand-in skipper, played a key role, scoring 85 not out against Lucknow Super Giants to chase down 228 runs to win. Tim Seifert’s inclusion and Josh Hazlewood’s return will be a huge boost for RCB ahead of the knockout stages. If Rajat Patidar can get fit, the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle will fall into place for RCB as they attempt to end their IPL trophy drought.
Match- Punjab Kings vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Indian Premier League 2025, Qualifier 1
Venue – Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh
Date and Time –29th May 2025, 7:30 PM IST
Live Coverage Details – Star Sports (TV), Jio Hotstar (WEB and OTT)
Mullanpur has hosted four games, and three of those games saw teams batting first win the match under lights. The only game won by a chasing team was when RCB beat PBKS by seven wickets in the day encounter. Captain winning the toss will want to bat first as the pitch does have decent carry with the new ball. Once the ball gets old, spinners will come into play, making run-scoring difficult. A very good example of this is when PBKS bowled out Kolkata Knight Riders for 95 runs to defend the lowest score at this venue. The average score batting first at this venue is 170, and on five occasions, teams batting first have gone on to win the game.
