Skippers of PBKS and RCB Sam Curran and Faf du Plessis were fined for breaching the Code of Conduct of the IPL. While du Plessis was fined 20% for the slow-over rate, Curran was fined 50% of the match fee for showing dissent towards the umpire. It was an off day for both the captains as they lost the match and received fines as well. In a statement released by IPL, they mentioned the offences made by both captains.

"Faf du Plessis, Captain, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match 36 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata on April 21, 2024."

"Curran committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.8 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding," said the statement.

While RCB lost their match against KKR by one run, PBKS lost their match against GT by three wickets. Both the games were last over thrillers which entertained the audience throughout. Although it wasn't a good day for the skippers, the viewers had an amazing Sunday because of the double-header.

'The small things, I am actually proud of the boys tonight...' - Skipper Faf du Plessis words of appreciation for the team

Even though RCB lost the match by 1 run, it was a collective effort by the batters to reach that far while chasing a score of 223 runs. After the match, skipper Faf du Plessis praised the boys for their efforts with the bat and ball. Moreover, RCB's fielding was also amazing during the match.

"The small things, I am actually proud of the boys tonight, the way we bowled and fielded, we did give away a couple of big overs towards the end, but I thought we kept them down to a par score," said du Plessis at the post-match presentation.
