Pakistan Shaheens crushed India A in the sixth match of the ongoing Asia Cup Rising Stars in Doha, registering an emphatic eight-wicket win. The Shaheens chased down the 137-run target in just 13.2 overs. Maaz Sadaqat delivered a standout all-round performance and deservedly earned the Player of the Match award.
After being asked to bat first, India A managed only 136 in 19 overs despite a promising start from the top order. Priyansh Arya contributed just 10, but Vaibhav Suryavanshi (45 off 28) and Naman Dhir (35 off 20) lifted the innings with clean striking and positive intent. Their attacking stroke play helped India A reach 91/2. However, once Suryavanshi fell as the third wicket, the innings got derailed quickly.
India A suffered a dramatic collapse, sliding from 91/2 to 104/6 — losing four wickets for just 13 runs in a span of 28 balls. Ramandeep Singh (11) and Harsh Dubey (19) tried to steady the innings with a few crucial runs, but eventually, India A were bowled out for a below-par total of 136.
For Pakistan Shaheens, Shahid Aziz was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Saad Masood and Maaz Sadaqat supported him brilliantly with two wickets each. Ubaid Shah, Ahmed Daniyal, and Sufiyan Muqeem chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Pakistan Shaheens have qualified for the semis with this emphatic win
In reply, the Shaheens made full use of the powerplay. They raced to a 55-run opening partnership in just 5.3 overs. Mohammad Naeem scored 14 off 10, but Sadaqat stole the show with his clean hitting. His stroke play looked effortless as he dismantled the Indian bowling attack.
Yasir Khan joined him and added 39 runs for the second wicket, further strengthening Pakistan’s grip on the chase. Sadaqat continued to dominate, seemingly toying with the bowlers at will. He finished unbeaten on a brilliant 79 off 47 deliveries, while Mohammad Fariq remained not out on 16 off 14. The Shaheens sealed the win with eight wickets and 40 balls to spare.
