'One team that I want to beat every time...' - Gautam Gambhir reveals his intentions for IPL 2024 during interview with Star Sports

The most famous rivalry of IPL is back! It's time for the epic clash between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). When it comes to the match against RCB, Gambhir has always been extremely persistent and committed after the right that happened between him and Virat Kohli in 2013. Ahead of the clash on March 29, Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of KKR, reveals his true intentions regarding the IPL 2024 during an interview with Star Sports.

"One team that I want to beat every time, and probably even in my dreams is RCB. Probably the second-most high profile team and flamboyant team with the owner and probably with the squad who haven't won anything but still they thought that they've won everything," says Gambhir on Star Sports. 

However, Gambhir also talks about the attitude the RCB team has and it's impossible for him as a player to appreciate it. 2013 wasn't the last time they both faced each other. In 2023, Gambhir and Virat indulged in a fight during the match between RCB and LSG. Even after a decade, the rivalry hasn't ended yet and the KKR mentor is in no mood to end it as well. This will make the tournament and the match quite interesting as the fans will be hooked to their seats waiting for the clash.

As the epic rivalry is about to take place, the entire country is excited to see Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli's clash. Talking about this, India's former pacer, Varun Aaron is eagerly waiting to see Virat Kohli's reaction when he'll face Gambhir near the KKR dugout. However, since the match is in Bengaluru, the crowd's response to any such incident will be interesting to look at.  

While talking to Star Sports, Aaron said, "I don’t want to cause trouble, but I am eager to see the intense matchup that will likely unfold outside the playing field when Gautam Gambhir stands near the Bengaluru dugout. It is hard to predict how Virat Kohli will react if he makes eye contact with his fiery former teammate in the Kolkata dugout, given Kohli’s competitive spirit."
