Australia's captain, Pat Cummins, is extremely proud of his boys for pulling off a stunning win by 184 runs against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. In the second innings, the Australian batters kept losing wickets at regular intervals. It was that moment when everybody thought that India were back in the game.
However, much to everyone's surprise, the 10th wicket 50-run partnership by Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland changed the course of the game and shifted the momentum towards Australia. Cummins was elated at the presser, winning the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance. When he was asked about the game, he simply said it was one of the greatest wins.
"One of the greatest wins. Swung both ways. Fantastic crowd. We love playing Test Cricket, especially at home. This is our forte. Mitchell Starc is a warrior. He is fit but in pain. We will decide about Sydney later," said Pat Cummins at the presser.
What an amazing Test match: Pat Cummins
Australia were the best in their approach during the entire series. After losing the first game, they made sure to rectify their mistakes, unlike the Indian team. Pat Cummins described the match as one of the 'best' games he's been a part of. Moreover, the skipper spoke about the work done by the lower-order batters in the process.
Pat Cummins at the presser said, "What an amazing Test match; I reckon one of the best I've been part of. All week the crowd has been ridiculous, and it's been amazing to be part of. Winning the toss, it wasn't easy on the first day, to get up to high 400s was terrific. We put a lot of work into our lower-order batting, how best to bowl to the opposition batters, but also how we can contribute with the bat. We were a bit behind on over-rate, so thought, 'Get Trav in there, it may help us out'. Very happy changing room, we'll savour this before we get to Sydney."
