'One of the greatest ever of the game' - Virat Kohli's emotional open letter to AB de Villiers on being Hall of Fame inductee

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the Hall of Fame inductees where AB de Villiers was included. On receiving this news, De Villiers' best friend on and off the field, Virat Kohli wrote an emotional letter to the playet which broke the internet. The heartfelt letter reached millions of fans and they were overwhelmed by the camaraderie of the players. They had the best time when they played for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) before De Villiers retired from cricket. 

One of the best in the business, De Villiers deserved this recognition but the letter from Kohli won hearts. Kohli wrote, "It is an honour to be selected to write these words as you enter the ICC Hall of Fame. You are thoroughly deserving of your place – after all, the Hall of Fame is a representation of your impact on the game, and yours has been truly unique."

AB de Villiers has been a part of multiple teams in his career and has played some amazing unforgettable knocks which are etched in the minds of the people. He is called Mr. 360 for his ability to play shots all around the field. The cricket world does miss him for his heroics and his gameplay.

Apart from AB de Villiers, Sir Alastair Cook and Neetu David join as inductees 113,114 and 115 in the Hall of Fame. This is a prestigious thing for the players who have given their everything to the sport. Virat went on to praise De Villiers for his impact he left on the game and the people, which is why he deserved this. 

"You are in the Hall of Fame for the impact you have left on the game and I don’t think there is anything more special for a cricketer than to have that honour. Congratulations, biscotti. You are one of the greatest players to ever play the game," said Virat Kohli.
