Virat Kohli's retirement from Test cricket was a shocking moment for all cricket fans. India's one of the best screenwriters and lyricists, Javed Akhtar, penned down a small note for Kohli after hearing his retirement news on Twitter. The right-hand batter was undoubtedly the best in the business with tons of scores under his belt. Javed termed his retirement 'premature' and urged him to reconsider his decision.
All the young cricketers take inspiration from the player as he has done a lot for the country and the game as well. Kohli has played in 123 Test matches and scored 9230 runs, at an average of 46.85. He missed out on scoring 10,000 runs in red-ball cricket. Now, Kohli will only play in the ODIs, and fans are hoping that he will continue up to the ICC ODI World Cup 2027.
Obviously Virat knows better but as an admirer of This great player I am disappointed by his rather premature retirement from Test cricket cricket . I think there is still a lot of cricket in him . I sincerely request him to reconsider his decision.

BCCI is set to announce the squad for the 5-match Test series against England. Before that, India A will play an unofficial Test match against the England Lions. As per reports, the selectors are considering Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan in the team. Apart from them, Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Dhruv Jurel, Shardul Thakur, Tanush Kotian, Akash Deep, Khaleel Ahmed, Anshul Kamboj, and Manav Suthar might get a chance as well.
This series will be tough for India as they will play with a new captain. There is no clarity on who will lead the team yet. Moreover, the selectors will also focus more on forming the entire team after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's retirement from Test cricket.
