MS Dhoni in new legal trouble? Former business associate lodges complaint to BCCI

Former Indian skipper and Chennai Super Kings legend MS Dhoni has seemingly landed himself in new trouble. According to reports carried by DNA, a person named Rajesh Kumar Maurya who lives in Uttar Pradesh has lodged a formal complaint with BCCI. DNA also stated that the complaint has been submitted under rule 39 of the Indian Cricket Board. 

The matter came to light after MS Dhoni had filed a case pertaining to INR 15 Crores against a person named Mihir Diwakar. The former Indian skipper had filed the said case at the Ranchi Civil Court. 

The BCCI for its part has asked for a reply from MS Dhoni via its ethics committee. DNA has reported that MS Dhoni has to file his reply by the 30th of August while Rajesh Kumar Maurya has to file his reply by the 16th of September. MS Dhoni had filed a case against Mihir Diwakar and two other parties regarding a huge fraud.

Meanwhile, there is massive speculation about the future of MS Dhoni as far his involvement in IPL is concerned. The 43-year-old is yet to confirm if he will play next year and has said that it depends on the retention rules. 

Ravichandran Ashwin talking on his YouTube channel said “Will Dhoni play as an uncapped player? That's a big question mark. The point is correct. He hasn't played international cricket for many years. He has retired. So, he is an uncapped player. He is not a capped player”

The former CSK star also said “Can a player like Dhoni play as an uncapped player? That is another conversation. Obviously, if someone talks about Dhoni, everyone will talk about it.”

“In franchises, for example, I played for the RR. If you give them 7-8 retentions, the RR will laugh at every team. Because there are Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna, Trent Boult, Shimron Hetmyer, you can name a lot of names. If you give them these retentions, their core is set. It's enough to go to auction and get 2-3 players” Ravichandran Ashwin added further.
