The entire Indian cricket paradigm is currently shifted towards big discussions and debates after the abrupt Test retirement of two legends of the game, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Both stalwarts announced their retirement from the longest format within just five days, from May 7 to May 12.
Meanwhile, what attracted the eyeballs and caught the attention of the Indian cricket fans was star India pacer Mohammed Shami’s reaction to a fake retirement news about him. Shami took to his Instagram handle to share a story in which he brutally slammed a cricket news website for running fake news.
“Very well done Maharaj, apna job k din bhi gin lo kitna adieu hai, badme dekh le hamara, aap jaise ne satyiyanash kar diya future ka, kabi toh achha bol liya kare, aaj ka sabse kharab story, sorry (Very well done man, also count the days of your job, how much is adieu, can look at us later, people like you have completely ruined the future, try to speak good at least sometimes, today’s worst story, sorry),” wrote Mohammed Shami in his Instagram story while lashing out at the news website for running his retirement’s fake news.

Mohammed Shami in line for Test series against England
Notably, the 34-year-old pacer is also being considered in Indian management’s plans for the upcoming five-match Test series against England, starting next month on June 20. Shami has been one of the premium contributors with the ball for India in red-ball cricket. The Amroha-born pace spearhead has represented India in whites for the last 12 years since he debuted in 2013.
Shami has played 64 Tests in his 12-year-long career, scalping 229 wickets in 122 innings, claiming 12 four-wicket hauls and six five-wicket hauls. It also includes his best bowling figures of ‘6 wickets at just 56 runs in an innings.’
