IPL 2025 latest Points Table: The Mumbai Indians defeated the reigning champions, the Kolkata Knight Riders, by a massive 8-wicket margin in the 12th game of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium hosted this game on Monday, March 31. The MI skipper won the toss and asked KKR to bat first.
Batting first, the holders were bundled out at the score of just 116 runs in 16.2 overs; KKR’s batting attack failed to survive against the MI bowling attack, especially the young debutant pacer Ashwani Kumar, who claimed the match-winning four-wicket haul (4 wickets at 24 runs in his 3 overs). Besides him, Deepak Chahar also scalped 2 wickets, alongside a wicket each picked by all other MI bowlers.
While chasing the target, MI comfortably crossed the line in just 12.5 overs, scoring 121 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets and winning the game by 8 wickets. Young wicketkeeper-batter and opener Ryan Rickleton played a fiery half-century knock, scoring 62 runs off just 41 balls, with 4 fours and five sixes. It was also the first win for MI in the current season after facing two successive defeats.
