Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) IPL 2025 Complete Schedule: Full KKR Fixtures, Venues, Match Date

Defending Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head into the new season looking to defend their crown. KKR had won the title last season by beating Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad in the finals. Post the tournament, the team has seen massive changes to their squad, having brought some huge names. 

Ajinkya Rahane, who was picked in the final few stages of the IPL 2025 auctions, was named the captain of the side. Shreyas Iyer, who had led the team to their third IPL title, was released and eventually the 30-year-old was picked by the Punjab Kings for the coming season and named the captain. KKR will start their title defence at home against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the first match of the season on 22nd March. 

Yet again, the focus will be on key stars like Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer, and Varun Chakravarthy. The two West Indian stars have been part of the side for a long time, while Venkatesh Iyer became the costliest all-rounder in the history of the league. Varun Chakravarthy has found new fame after his exploits with the ball for India in the recent Champions Trophy 2025 tournament. 

Amongst the new names being picked, South African duo Quinton De Kock and Anrich Nortje will be the ones to watch out for. Both stars have done well in the IPL and will bring loads of experience to the table. Veteran English star Moeen Ali and Australian bowling sensation Spencer Johnson are also part of the setup. Out of favour, Indian pacer Umran Malik is also part of the KKR unit and will hope to have a great season and make it back to the national team.
