Australia's prime bowler, Josh Hazlewood, is set to miss the upcoming T20I series against Scotland in the next month. The reason behind this is his calf injury, which he sustained during the training session last week. The medical staff didn't expect it to be this serious, but it turns out that he'll have to miss the T20I series.

Moreover, as per reports, he might return for the white-ball series against England later in September. Riley Meredith will be replacing him for the upcoming series. The pacer hasn't played a single game for Australia since 2021, and it's high that the Board recognizes his talent and gives him more chances in the future.

For the upcoming series, Australia will visit Scotland with an inexperienced side while Mitchell Marsh will be the captain.  Australia's other pacer Spencer Johnson won't be a part of the 3-match T20I series due to injury. In the bowling attack, Xavier Bartlett, Sean Abbott, and Nathan Ellis are the prime members and this is the best opportunity for them to prove their worth.

Cheteshwar Pujara was a sure bet in Australian conditions: Matthew Hayden

Former Australian batter Matthew Hayden wasn't happy with the India team for the Australian tour. Moreover, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the selectors and the Board have treated Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteswar Pujara even after their consistent performance in red-ball cricket. Moreover, he wants to see Pujara in the upcoming Australia series, starting on November 21.

Matthew Hayden said, "You look at the lineups, and it's hard to really tell who has the edge. I sense that it's going to be runs that are going to be the point of difference. Guys that are sure bets have retired, like Cheteshwar Pujara was a sure bet in Australian conditions."
