WPL 2025 Auction: Date, Time, Player List, Venue - All you need to know

The Women's Premier League(WPL) 2025 auction will commence on December 15 in Bengaluru. The Board has finally made a decision on the auction and informed the franchise owners about the venue and the policies for better understanding. In November, the teams released their retention lists for the auction, where some of the released player names came as a shock. 

This auction will be super fun because a total of 120 cricketers are set to be auctioned for the tournament, including 91 Indian stars and 29 international players. The auction will start at 3 PM IST, and Sports 18 and JioCinema will have broadcasting rights. There are a total of 91 Indian cricketers, including nine capped and 82 uncapped stars, who will go under the hammer. 

Furthermore, there are 29 overseas players for the auction, including 21 capped and eight uncapped cricketers. Among the overseas players, three of them belong to associate nations. The players will be super excited for the third edition of the Women's Premier League (IPL) 2025. The third season will start in February or March. BCCI is yet to decide on the schedule for the matches. 

Royal Challengers Bengaluru to take field as reigning champions

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru(RCB) were the Champions of the second season of the Women's Premier League (WPL). They won the finals against Delhi Capitals by eight wickets. It was a dream come true moment for the RCB fans as their team finally won a trophy in 17 years. Moreover, the DC camp wouldn't be happy as they lost the finals for the second time. 

In 2023, DC lost the finals against MI in the WPL. They have a magnificent team but winning the finals has become a tough task for the franchise. Furthermore, all the franchises will try to do things in a different manner this year to strengthen their chances of winning the tournament.
