Indian cricket player KL Rahul is set to play for 'India A' ahead of the five-match Test series against England. The Karnataka-born cricketer played for the Delhi Capitals team this IPL 2025 season. The Delhi team started off well by becoming the table toppers in the first half of the tournament.
But the second half was a complete disaster for them as they lost 5 out of six matches and missed the playoff opportunity. KL Rahul lost form after his match-winning knock against RCB in Bangalore. He is now in the Indian Test squad against England. Without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, he will now be the senior player in the team alongside Ravindra Jadeja.

KL Rahul joins the 'India A' squad
Rahul will fly on Monday and join the India A team before their warmup match against the England Lions. According to a source from BCCI, “He will be flying on Monday and will be playing a second warm-up game with the India A side. As he is part of the senior men’s team, which will be playing five Test matches in the series, these matches will give him game time and match practice.”
After the India A game in Canterbury, the Indian cricket team will play an intra-squad game against Beckenham on June 13. The England vs India first test will start on June 20 at Leeds. KL had a good Australia tour as he scored 255 runs at an average of 30.66, hitting two fifties. His crucial opening knock of 77 (176) balls was one of the biggest reasons behind India’s victory.
Jaiswal and Virat Kohli scored their test tonnes and helped India win the historic Perth test against Australia. We are expecting him to do the same against England by staying long and tiring the bowlers. KL is known for his good batting technique, which is well-suited for tests. With no Kohli or Rohit Sharma in the team, Rahul has the complete responsibility of carrying the team's batting order.
