The second day of the ongoing WTC 2023-25 final was no short of a thrilling or entertaining spectacle between Australia and South Africa. Australia took the first-innings lead after bundling South Africa at just 138 runs, courtesy of skipper Pat Cummins’ sensational six-for.

However, a twist in the tale was still awaited till the end of the day as Australia lost their 8 wickets at the score of just 144 runs. But the Aussie skipper Pat Cummins looked quite confident while speaking about Australia’s chances in the game after the stumps on the second day.

He also spoke about Australia’s priorities on the third day of the game to get a bit of an upper hand in the contest to win the title.

“Well, initially … when I walked out, anything over 200 (would have been good), so it is good to get over that,” said Cummins in a post-match media interaction.

“But you just want to get as many runs as you can. Hopefully, we get another 20 or 30 in the morning. That’d be good. I think that would give us a few more options to bowl to, you know, a few more aggressive fields to set, those kinds of things. But I’m happy to have it over 200,” he added later.

Furthermore, Cummins also came up with a sort of prediction and said that the game is all set for a 3-day finish, most probably.

“It’s still pretty difficult out there. I think it is set up pretty well for a day three finish, you’d imagine, tomorrow. But I think we are going to have to bowl well, still, in the fourth innings,” he said
