Pakistan is jumping with happiness as the ace javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem won gold in the Paris Olympics 2024. With a throw of 92.97 meters, he has made a world record at the Olympics, which will stay for a while now. Moreover, Pakistan won gold in the Olympics after 30 years, which is huge, and the celebrations will continue for a while.
India's Neeraj Chopra, who was also participating in the Olympics, finished second and won the Silver medal for the country. The expectations were high from him as he finished on the podium in most of the tournaments. However, it wasn't his day, as he managed to throw 89.45 meters, which bagged him the second position. While he had five attempts, he only succeeded in one attempt, and the rest were all fouls.
Nadeem was definitely better than him in the game and, hence, won the Gold medal, which is indeed a proud moment for Pakistan. With only seven athletes playing in the Olympics, Pakistan are placed higher than India in the medal tally because of their Gold medal. The Pakistan cricketers took to Twitter to congratulate Nadeem for his incredible feat and extended their gratitude for bringing home Gold.
India's hopes for Gold in Paris Olympics shatter
After Neeraj Chopra's 2nd position in the javelin throw, India's hopes of winning Gold in the Paris Olympics is shattered. He was the only contender who was expected to get Gold in the Olympics, but he bagged the Silver medal, which is absolutely great. He's a Star and has made India proud on an international level. Apart from him, the Indian Hockey team also won the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics.
They played the Bronze Medal match against Spain and won 2-1. It was a close win, but the players put in exceptional effort and helped India win the bronze medal. Moreover, in an unfortunate event, Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Olympics while she was also a medal contender. Overall, the Paris Olympics 2024 isn't less than a major heartbreak for Indian fans.
