It was a terrific win by the English team as they chased down a score of 181 runs in 17.3 overs with eight wickets to spare against West Indies in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The Super 8 stage has begun, and all teams are gearing up with consecutive matches. The hero behind this brilliant chase was opener Phil Salt, who smashed 87 runs off 47 balls. While talking to the reporters regarding his innings, he opened up about the support and advice he got from West Indies legend Kieron Pollard, who is currently with the England team as their assistant coach.

"Pollard's brought a lot to the group but I'd say that the most valuable thing I've taken so far (from him) is constructing that run chase. We've spoken a lot about taking eights from one side to take twelves from the other and that's 200 [runs],” said Phil Salt while talking to the reporters.

Phil hit seven boundaries and five sixes during his innings and batted like a legend. He rotated the strike whenever possible and hit the bowlers when the ball was in his slot. Overall, the opener's batting performance was good, taking his team past the victory line.
