In the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025, India are clashing against Bangladesh in a high-intensity game. Bangladesh started their innings by losing five early wickets in the powerplays. However, much to everyone's surprise, Jaker Ali and Howhid Hridoy stuck around, making a partnership of more than 150 runs in the first game. However, Axar Patel was just brilliant with the ball in the initial overs, taking two consecutive wickets. Rohit Sharma dropped the catch on the hat trick ball, which was a huge loss for the player.

"A lot happened. I didn't know if it (Tanzid Hasan wicket) was out, but KL appealed and it was out. Then I got the second wicket. The third one, when the edge was found, I thought I got my hat trick. It was an eventful over. I started to celebrate and then I saw it (Rohit dropping the catch). I didn't react and just came back. It's part of the game," said Axar Patel during the innings break.

Bangladesh went on to score 228 runs after losing five wickets under 50 runs. It was a great batting effort from the middle order batters who helped the team get to a decent total.

The wicket got easier to bat: Axar Patel

Indian bowlers did a great job at the start of the game but failed to continue the momentum. Axar Patel spoke about the pitch and the changes that happened during the innings. Now, everything will depend upon the Indian batters about how they take the game forward.

"The wicket got easier to bat on, and I think it's an easy total to chase. It's a slow wicket and as the ball gets older, it gets easier to bat. In the second innings, it'll continue to remain slow. My role is to contribute whenever my team needs. Happy that the team trusts me a lot," added Axar Patel.
