The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) vice president, Rajeev Shukla, was a guest on the TRS show. Rajeev Shukla said, “I feel Dhoni can become a politician. It is up to him if he will become a politician or not. Sourav, I always felt he would enter Bengal politics. Dhoni can also be good in politics. He will win easily; he is popular. I don't know if he will enter politics; it is purely in his hands.”
Mr. Shukla also said, “I asked him once that I heard that he was going to contest for Lok Sabha seat; he said, ‘No, no, no'." Ranveer Allahabadia asked Rajeev Shukla about Dhoni not being available much, to which the BCCI vice president revealed, “It is nature to stay hidden; he doesn't even keep a mobile phone with him. It was even hard for the BCCI selectors to approach him, as there was no mobile with him.”
Sachin Tendulkar reveals MS Dhoni’s emotional words during his retirement
Former Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar was given the lifetime achievement award on Saturday. The 51-year-old is gearing up for his cricketing return with the Masters League, which is set to begin in three weeks. Sachin Tendulkar, during the award show, recalled an emotional moment during his retirement test in 2013.
Former India legend recalled, “MS Dhoni said, 'Paaji aap thoda dur raho, hum kuch plan kar rahe hai' and then the team gave me the guard of honour. They gave me that send-off and that is when you kind of realise that the end is near. 'Ki iske baad, I will never walk out on the field as a current Indian player'. Very few people get to do this Very few people experience what all of you are experiencing."
The former India star also said, “I'm speechless when it comes to those moments; those moments are never planned. I think it's a story written from above. Honestly, when I look back, I really find it difficult to believe that all these things have happened in my life. I consider myself extremely lucky, and that last moment when the whole team was planning to do something for me and celebrate the ninth wicket, we celebrated that."
