Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) is set to kick off on Saturday, March 22 with the tournament opener between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The 18th edition of the tournament will be the focus of the entire global cricketing fraternity owing to the presence of many superstars.
However, there will also be some young superstars to watch out for in the highly anticipated 18th edition of the tournament. In the same line of events, the young Delhi Capitals batter Jake Fraser-McGurk will also be in focus of the cricket experts and fans of the game.
IPL doesn’t tolerate a lack of results – Adam Gilchrist
Meanwhile, the former Australia batter Adam Gilchrist has also come up with a warning note for Jake Fraser-McGurk ahead of IPL 2025. Gilchrist warned the Aussie youngster of the challenges he might face in the tournament as he is also struggling with the poor run of form.
“(Delhi) have shown great faith in keeping him at the franchise. It’s important he starts well. What I do know of the IPL typically is that franchises and owners and coaches, they don’t tolerate a lack of results for too long,” said Gilchrist to Fox Cricket.
“The wicket that he batted on was extraordinarily high-scoring last year. All the offerings will be there. It’s up to him now to keep a level head on those opportunities. The offerings around T20 cricket are engulfing first-class cricket in all regions,” he added later.
Notably, Fraser McGurk enjoyed a brilliant run of form while playing for DC last year in IPL 2024. He played nine games and scored 330 runs in nine innings, with a brilliant average of 36.66 and a sensational batting strike rate of 234.04, hitting four half-centuries.
He will also be aiming to get his batting form back in the upcoming IPL 2025 as he was seen struggling with it in the Big Bash League 2024-25.
