Renowned cricket commentator and broadcaster, Harsha Bhogle came up with a harsh and ‘hard-and-fast lined’ stance while suggesting BCCI make some stricter policies for Indian cricketers. Notably, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently issued a guideline for Indian cricketers regarding taking their wives, girlfriends and partners with them on the cricket team’s tours.
The guideline suggested that the players will be allowed to take their partners on a tour only for 14 days if the tour is more than 45 days. Subsequently, it added that the time to ‘keep wives, partners, or girlfriends’ will reduce to 7 days if a tour is less than 45 days.
Meanwhile, a prominent name in the field of cricket commentary and broadcasting, Harsha Bhogle came up with some harsh suggestions while taking a stance against the culture of ‘player PR agencies’ in modern-day cricket. The veteran commentator strongly expressed his disagreement with this culture of players having their personal ‘PR agencies.’
“Reading of the changes the BCCI is apparently suggesting for the Indian team. I don't know how much to believe but if I had to nominate one rule to be strictly applied, it would be to ban team members from having PR agencies,” wrote Bhogle in his recent post on X (formerly Twitter).
Here’s what Harsha Bhogle said:
Harsha Bhogle’s concern seems quite valid considering the modern-day trend of ‘cricketers getting trolled’ from the trolls staged by any other player’s PR agency. It has been seen in India on several occasions that the PR agency-staged trolls brutally trolled Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli or vice-versa.
Speaking of on-field action for Team India, they have been through a struggling run of form, losing six out of their last eight Tests. Rohit Sharma-led side has lost two major Test series against New Zealand at home and Australia in Australia.
