In a recent piece of news, the star pace-bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been picked as a replacement for the injured Mohsin Khan in the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) squad. Thakur, who went unsold during the IPL 2025 mega-auction, will be signing an IPL contract with LSG. He has been there in the LSG setup since they started their preparations for the tournament’s 18th edition.
However, an official communication from the Lucknow Super Giants is still awaited on the same, but C He will also be there with the LSG squad that will be touring Visakhapatnam for their campaign opener against Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals.
Speaking of Mohsin Khan, he sustained an ACL injury due to which he was out of action for the period of last three months. Subsequently, he also complained of a calf strain after he started bowling in the nets during LSG’s preparations.

Meanwhile, the LSG mentor Zaheer Khan also spoke about the injury concerns for the seamers in their squad. Zaheer stressed the fact the management will be looking ahead to go with the dynamic approach in IPL 2025.
“The situation is dynamic for some of our players due to injuries. But it’s time that we look for positives and adopt things to tackle the situation amicably. Some players are at the National Cricket Academy and others are spending time with their physios. Right now, it will not be right to say anything about this. The situation will be dynamic this season,” said Zaheer Khan to journalists during a press interaction.
LSG, under the captaincy of newly appointed skipper Rishabh Pant, will play their campaign opener against Delhi Capitals on Monday, March 4, at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
