Virat Kohli and Phil Salt began well as the pair scored at over 12 runs per over at the end of the powerplay overs. Kohli, in particular was timing the ball well and hitting boundaries at will. Harsh Dubey’s introduction gave some relief for SRH as the left-arm spinner got the wicket of Kohli in the final ball of the seventh over.

Phil Salt continued his carnage with the bat as he kept hitting fours and sixes at will. Salt, who is set to leave for national duties after the league stages, was scoring with a strike rate of 200. After adding 80 for the first wicket with Kohli, the Englishman added 40 runs for the second wicket with Mayank Agarwal.

The veteran Indian batter was done in by a slower ball from Nitish Reddy to be caught by Ishan Kishan in the 11th over. Agarwal was out after scoring 11 runs from 10 balls with just one four. At that stage, RCB needed 112 runs to win from 56 balls with eight wickets left.

Eshan Malinga ran out Rajat Patidar for 18 and Jaydev Unadkat then got the wicket of Jitesh Sharma for 24. From there, SRH didn’t look back as they picked up the last seven wickets for just 16 runs in a space of 25 balls. RCB stays in the second spot in the table with 17 points and just one match left to play. The best bowler for SRH was Pat Cummins, who picked up 3/28 from his four overs, while Eshan Malinga picked up two wickets.
