The much-awaited retention list is out, and the Mumbai Indians (MI) have retained Jasprit Bumrah as their first retention. They have spent INR 18 crores on him ahead of the IPL 2025. Mumbai Indians (MI) have made a strong statement throughout the Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons with a solid set of players in the side. Starting from Sachin Tendulkar to Lasith Malinga to Kieron Pollard, the stalwarts had been with the team and helped them reach heights. When the management brought in Rohit Sharma and made him the captain of the team, things changed drastically.

After that, MI went on to clinch five trophies in the IPL. Not only IPL, they ruled the Champions League as well, where they won the trophy twice. Undoubtedly, MI have been one of the most dangerous teams in the IPL. However, things have changed now, as they last won the trophy in 2020. After that, they have just qualified once for the playoffs but couldn't make their way into the finals.

The Mumbai Indians management have always backed their players, and this time, too, they did the same. As the retention list is released, MI retained their captain, Hardik Pandya, who is a phenomenal player. They have retained him for INR 16.35 crores, and he will be there with the team for a long time now and build it from scratch. This was a strategic move by management, and they wouldn't regret it later.
