Vidwath Kaverappa: India’s upcoming pace talent

Indian cricket has seen one name dominate the headlines as far as seam bowling is concerned. Vidwath Kaverappa has made the best batters in the Indian Cricket's domestic circuit uncomfortable with his ability to keep bowling at a nagging line and length.

The young pacer had to wait an entire and season and nearly a dozen games to make his IPL debut. It could have been a dream when he had Virat Kohli come down the track and mistime his shot but Ashutosh Sharma dropped the difficult chance.

Faf Du Plessis then tried to hit him over the deep-point region was caught by Shashank Singh to give Kaverappa his first wicket. Will Jacks was his next wicket when he had the English batter caught by Harshal Patel.

Vidwath Kaverappa would have had much betters figures if only Virat Kohli wasn’t put down twice. It was still a great start as the lanky pacer ended his day with figures of 2/36 from four overs.

Before this game, Vidwath Kaverappa had played 12 T20 matches for Karnataka and picked 23 wickets. What caught the eye of the experts is his amazing economy rate which is under 6 runs per over and he already has picked a fifer in his short career in this format.
