The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is about to come to an end as the contenders for the Final match are decided. After two long months and 70 back-to-back matches, two teams have proved gracefully that they are better than the rest and have come to Chennai to play the Finals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Well, the two strongest teams of the IPL 2024 are the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Undoubtedly, both teams had the best campaign of the season, with absolutely amazing knocks and high scores. We all still remember the knocks of Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Sunil Narine, and Phil Salt, right? Both teams have broken many records this season, but the real point of discussion is the weather. While the Chennai sky seems clear now, in case the match gets washed away due to rain, the BCCI has kept a reserve day for the Finals, just like last year.
However, if it still rains on the reserve day as well and no balls have been bowled in the entire match, then the match will be called off, and the team that finishes on the points table will be declared the winner. But if it rains mid-way through the match, the game will go as per the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
KKR vs SRH in IPL 2024: Weather report
The Chennai sky is clear, and there is no probability of precipitation at the Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. The sky will remain cloudy throughout the day, and low humidity is expected. However, the capital city might experience a little rain in the evening due to the Cyclone Remal that's hovering around the Bay of Bengal.
Parts of West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh are on high alert. Since Tamil Nadu is also close to the Bay of Bengal, some parts of the state might experience rain, including Chennai. Hence, to stay on the safer side, a reserve day was allotted to the Finals.
