IPL 2024: Top 3 player battles to watch out for in the GT vs CSK match

The 59th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be in between the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and the runners-up, Gujarat Titans (GT). However, this year the scenes are pretty different in the GT camp as they are at the bottom of the table with just eight points in 11 matches. Shubman Gill did try to help his team win matches but failed to do that. However, on the other hand, things have been fine for skipper Ruturaj Gaiwad so far. He has been performing well for the team and is handling the captaincy stress well. CSK's performance has been improving and they will hope to continue the winning momentum for the upcoming matches.

1. Wriddhiman Saha vs Ravindra Jadeja:

Wriddhiman Saha is one of the experienced players in the IPL tournament along with Ravindra Jadeja. Both players have some good records in the league and will look forward to strengthening them. If we are considering the stats, Saha has played 42 balls and scored 48 runs while Jadeja has taken his wicket twice. This game is important for CSK and will also be played on a slow pitch, so this might be an added advantage for Jadeja. 

2. Shubman Gill vs Shardul Thakur:

Shubman Gill, often known as 'The Prince' has played some tricky knocks for the team in times of crisis. He has been a consistent player in this tournament and GT is lucky to have a dedicated like him. On the other hand, Shardul Thakur is known as 'The Lord' who has given some important breakthroughs to the team. This season has been quite off for him but he'll look to bounce back. In this players' battle, Gill has played 31 balls and scored 36 runs while Thakur has dismissed him twice. Hence, this will be another opportunity for Thakur to show his brilliance on the field by dismissing the opponent captain. 

3. Shivam Dube vs Rashid Khan:

Shivam Dube has become the backbone of the CSK team in recent years. His performance against the spin has been incredible. However, in this season we have seen a different version of him against the pace attack. For GT, Rashid Khan is no less than an asset. He is the most important bowler who is aware of his game play, which is pretty well. Dube has played 18 balls and scored 28 runs while Rashid has dismissed him only once. Considering his record against spin attack, Rashid might get hit for 3-4 sixes in this game.
