IPL 2024 Playoffs: RR Records in Playoff-stage in IPL History

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has reached its end stage with the playoffs starting on May 21, Tuesday. After almost two months and 70 matches, finally, four teams have made it to the playoffs. The teams, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), have given their best and reached a stage where they will be playing the knockouts and from here on all the matches are crucial. 

Hence, the four teams will have to play the rest of their matches very carefully. Moreover, Rajasthan Royals (RR) was one of those teams which played some good cricket and were on top of the table for quite a long time. After being unbeaten for nearly about six matches, they started losing games.

In the month of May, they lost four consecutive games and from the first position, they came down to the third position. Now, RR will play the RCB in the eliminators on May 22, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Whoever wins will play the Qualifier 2 and the loser will be knocked out of the tournament. 

Here’s a look at RR's records in the playoff stage in IPL History

Rajasthan Royals was the first team to lift the trophy in the first season of the IPL in 2008. Since then they have lost their momentum and have failed to perform well in the tournament. Moreover, they also played in the finals in 2022 where they lost to the new team Gujarat Titans (GT) who were playing IPL for the first time. 

The team hasn't been consistent and has failed to qualify for the playoffs quite a number of times. But this time they somehow managed to qualify but will be playing against the mighty RCB team who are in brilliant form.
