IPL 2024 Playoffs: 3 Reasons why LSG is better placed than CSK to qualify

The ongoing IPL 2024 is getting closer to the playoffs, and all 10 teams are aiming to seal a spot in the top four to win the title of IPL 2024. However, it appears that LSG will once again get a spot in the top four owing to their better standing in the points table while defending champions CSK may get out of the playoff race despite being out of the top four in the current points table.

Here are the three major reasons why LSG can be in the top four over CSK:

1. CSK have lost momentum.

It seems that the defending champions, CSK, have somehow lost momentum in the IPL 2024. Notably, the side had the best start of the edition, but they went on to lose a plethora of matches, which puts them in the sixth spot. However, no batters are in such form except Shivam Dube in the batting line-up, which makes the team frail, and the new captain also seems very inexperienced in the marquee event, making them lose the match badly.

2. LSG has found its combination despite losing to RR.

The Lucknow Super Giants seem to be in great form despite losing to RR in the marquee event. Notably, skipper KL Rahul is looking in magnificent form and leading the side well, along with great batting, which makes the side great. On the other hand, CSK has been unable to defend the target and has been unable to chase as well in a few games. However, LSG batters seem to be in sublime form with the likes of Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran, and Ayush Badoni, along with KL Rahul.

3. Strong position in the points table

LSG are currently in the fourth spot, having five wins and 10 points. However, they are yet to play five more games, and a win in any three of the remaining five can help them get into the playoffs. Meanwhile, LSG will be looking to seal a place in the top two as they have been knocked out in the eliminator clash back in IPL 2022 and IPL 2023.
