Punjab Kings were dealt a massive blow as their hopes for playoffs qualification for the Indian Premier League 2024 season was hit hard. The home team lost to the defending Champions Chennai Super Kings by 29 runs in the afternoon game on Sunday.

Ravindra Jadeja had a memorable outing with the bat and ball as he single-handedly demolished the PBKS side. Sam Curran was left shaking his head after his team capitulated with the bat in pursuit of 168 runs to win.

5. Ajinkya Rahane – 9 runs from 7 balls

Unlike his amazing show with the bat during the IPL 2023 season, Ajinkya Rahane has found runs hard to come by this year. The 35-year-old failed to shine yet again as he could only score 9 runs from 7 balls before he was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in the 2nd over of the day.

4. Shivam Dube – 0 runs from 1 ball

The last two matches has been tough for the normally big-hitting talents of Shivam Dube. The 30-year-old yet again fell to spin as he departed for a golden duck caught by Jitesh Sharma off Rahul Chahar to put his team under pressure.

3. Jitesh Sharma – 0 runs from 1 ball

Yet another Indian star who has been awful during the IPL 2024 season has been Jitesh Sharma. The 30-year-old who has lost his place in the Indian team was out for a golden duck when he edged behind to MS Dhoni to give Simarjeet Singh his first wicket of the day.

2. Sam Curran – 1/34 from four overs and 7 runs from 11 balls

Former CSK star Sam Curran might have hoped to put his former teammates under pressure for a second game running. The English star gave away 34 runs from four overs with the wicket of Moeen Ali added to his kitty. With the bat Sam Curran struggled as he could only hit 7 runs from 11 balls as he was sent packing by Ravindra Jadeja.

1. Arshdeep Singh -1/42 from four overs

With the T20 World Cup around the corner, Arshdeep Singh seems to be losing his form. The ace Indian pacer was hit for 42 runs from his four overs which just included the wicket of Rahane. The left-arm pacer leaked runs towards the back end of the innings to give CSK the much needed impetus with the bat.
