Five-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians (MI) made a meek exit from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season after their loss to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 24 runs. The five-time winners were bowled out for 145 runs in pursuit of 170 to win as Suryakumar Yadav top-scored with 56.

Mitchell Starc the costliest ever player in the IPL ended with figures of 4/33 from 3.5 overs. This was his best figure for the season after struggling to get going with the ball in the early part of the season.

Here are the top 5 worst performances from the match:

5. Hardik Pandya -2/44 from 4 overs and 1 run from 3 balls

237

The IPL 2024 season ended in misery for Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya. The 30-year-old is sure to face a lot of questions after yet another abject performance with the bat and ball against KKR on Friday. Hardik Pandya gave away 44 runs while picking the wickets of Sunil Narine and Manish Pandey before scoring only a run with the bat.

4. Gerald Coetzee – 0/24 from 2 overs and 8 runs from 7 balls

236

Young South African star Gerald Coetzee made his return to the side after missing the last game. His two overs cost the team 24 runs and he didn’t even manage to pick up a wicket in what was a forgettable day with the ball. With the bat, Coetzee managed to score just 8 runs with a six before he was the last man out.

3. Rohit Sharma – 11 runs from 12 balls

236

The former Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma, has seen his form take a slide ever since his century against CSK. The 37-year-old came out as an impact player and could manage just 11 runs as he struggled to get going before falling to Sunil Narine.

2. Vaibhav Arora – 0/35 from 3 overs

235

In the absence of Harshit Rana, the onus of bowling with the new ball fell on the shoulders of Vaibhav Arora. The pacer was hit for 35 runs from 3 overs including 20 runs from a single over in what was a brutal assault by Suryakumar Yadav.

1. Shreyas Iyer – 6 runs from 4 balls

234

Kolkata Knight Riders will be sweating over the inconsistent form with the bat by their skipper Shreyas Iyer. The 29-year-old scored just 6 runs with the bat to continue his off-color showing with the bat for his side. If KKR entertain thoughts of winning the IPL they need their skipper to fire with the bat once again.
