Kolkata Knight Riders have gone to top of the table after their 98 run win against Lucknow Super Giants. It was a one sided game as the visitors dominated with the bat and ball during the 54th game of the Indian Premier League 2024 season. 

Lucknow Super Giants didn’t get going with the bat as they were bowled out for just 137 runs. Shreyas Iyer and his team were disciplined with the ball as they kept a tight leash on the LSG batters in the 2nd half of the game. 

5. Harshit Rana – 3/24 from 3.1 overs

After serving a one game ban due to disciplinary issues, Harshit Rana was back to his best. The young pacer picked 3/24 from 3.1 overs with the ball which also included the key wicket of KL Rahul for 25 runs. His next two wickets were that of Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi to end the game. 

4. Varun Chakravarthy – 3/30 from 3 overs

With the pitches starting to take turn , the threat of Varun Chakravarthy is growing. The 32-year-old spinner first dismissed Deepak Hooda for 5 before taking a smart return catch to dismiss Ashton Turner for 16. His third of the day was Yudhivir Charak who perished while trying to hit a huge six for mere 7 runs. 

3. Ramandeep Singh – 25 runs from 6 balls

KKR had Ramandeep Singh to thank as the right-handed batter came towards the end of the innings and smashed 25 from just 6 balls. His effortless hitting meant that KKR managed to score 235 on the board and the icing on the cake was his last ball six to end the innings. 

2. Phil Salt – 32 runs from 14 balls

The visiting side were given yet another fast start thanks to Phil Salt who took the attack to the opposition. The 32 by Salt came off just 14 balls with five boundaries and a six before he was dismissed by Naveen-ul –Haq.

1. Sunil Narine – 81 runs from 39 balls and 1/22 from 4 overs

This year the batting talents of Sunil Narine have come to the fore once again. The veteran West Indian star hit 81 runs from a mere 39 balls with six fours and 7 huge sixes to go past the 400 run mark for the season. The 36-year-old then returned the LSG batters with 1/22 from four overs with the wicket of Ayush Badoni to end an amazing day.
