Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals met in a very key game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday. It was Sanju Samson, who had won the toss and chose to bat first on what looked like a slow wicket to bat on. Riyan Parag with 47 runs helped the Royals a decent-looking 141 on the board.

Rachin Ravindra finally found some form as he scored 27 off 18 while Daryl Mitchell scored 22 of 13 to give CSK a good start. The spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed both batters before Nandre Burger got the wicket of Moeen Ali. Ruturaj Gaikwad and CSK kept their cool as they won the game by 5 wickets with 10 balls to spare to get closer to the playoffs.

Here are the top 5 standout performances from the match

5. Tushar Deshpande – 2/30 from 4 overs

For the second game in a row, Tushar Deshpande was the main man with the ball for the Chennai Super Kings. The 28-year-old bowled four overs and took two wickets including Dhruv Jurel and Shubham Dubey. The wicket of Jurel in particular was key for the CSK side as he was looking dangerous with the bat. That wicket was the biggest difference between Royals scoring 141 and scoring above 150.

4. Yuzvendra Chahal – 1/22 from 4 overs

After being hit around the park in the last few games, Yuzvendra Chahal found his form with the ball. The veteran spinner got the wicket of Daryl Mitchell at a crucial juncture of the game and kept his team in the game. Despite his efforts, Rajasthan Royals ended up on the losing side.

3. Riyan Parag – 47* runs from 35 balls

At a time when Rajasthan Royals were struggling it was Riyan Parag who stood up with the bat once again. The 22-year-old scored 47 from just 35 balls with the help of one sweetly timed four and three huge hits into the fence. The youngster also played a key role in the wicket of Shivam Dube by taking his catch when the CSK batter was on 18.

2. Simarjeet Singh -3/26 from four overs

361

Chennai Super Kings pacer Simrajeet Singh was at his best with the ball on Sunday. The 26-year-old pacer got the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal for 24 followed by Jos Buttler for 21. The third wicket to fall was that of Sanju Samson who could only score 15 runs from 19 balls before holing out to Ruturaj Gaikwad.

1. Ruturaj Gaikwad – 42* off 41 balls

362

When the going was getting tough for Chennai Super Kings, it was Ruturaj Gaikwad who stood up with the bat. The CSK skipper was not out on 42 from 41 balls on a tricky pitch and hit 1 four and two sixes to take his team home to a win in the 19th over with 5 wickets in hand.
