Former 3-time World champion David Warner brought up India's recent failures on turning tracks in a recent statement. The Aussie legend said that Indian batters will be eager to play on batting-friendly tracks in Australia after playing the last two months on turning tracks this season. A cheeky remark from the great batter.
The Border Gavaskar Trophy is set to be the next upcoming series which has a lot of hype as we see one of the biggest rivalries in international cricket between India and Australia. Some big stars will set to make their presence in the upcoming 5-match Test series. It will be interesting to see if the Indians will retain the trophy once again or will the Aussies come out on top under Pat Cummins.
David Warner makes a cheeky remark on Indian batters
David Warner might be retired from international cricket right now but he has made his presence felt in the commentary box recently. The Aussie legend has also gone on to give a cheeky remark regarding Indian batters' recent failures on turning tracks.
He said, "Indian batters will be eager to play on good batting wickets in Australia after playing on turning tracks in the last 2 months at Home". This was a bold claim by Warner who has been known to be caught in a lot of controversies in the past as well.
Though this statement by Warner might hurt the sentiments of some fans we cannot ignore the fact that India has struggled against spin, especially in the last Test series against New Zealand where they suffered a 3-0 whitewash at home. What this can also do is give a reason to the Indian players to beat the Aussies at home again and retain the Border Gavaskar trophy once again this time under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
