In what seems to be a shocking piece of news, the Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir reportedly received a death threat from ‘ISIS Kashmir’ on Tuesday, April 22. Subsequently, Gambhir approached the Delhi Police on Wednesday, April 23, to take immediate and strong action in the same regard.
The former India batter filed a formal request to SHO Rajinder Nagar and the DCP Central Delhi to register the First Information Report (FIR). Furthermore, he requested the law and enforcement agencies and authorities to come up with some hard-and-fast and necessary actions to assure the safety for his family.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police are likely to investigate the entire matter and execute all the required steps to provide a safety and security to Gambhir and his family.
It is reported to have happened on April 22, when Gambhir received two emails with a death threat. The first email was sent in the afternoon, followed by the second one in the evening. ‘IKillU’ message was reportedly written in both emails.
However, it is not for the first time that the Indian head coach and former BJP MP; he had also received a similar kind of threats four years ago in 2021. Those threats were also sent to him via email.
Gautam Gambhir condemns Pahalgam terror attack
Amidst all this, Gambhir condemned the horrific and brutal terror attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam district. The attack took the lives of 26 innocent civilians after the terrorists launched an open fire on tourists in Pahalgam’s Baisaran meadow. It also happened to be the most horrific and deadly terror attack since the Pulwama terror attacks happened six years ago in 2019.
Coming back to Gambhir, he took his official X handle (formerly Twitter) to express his grief for those who lost their lives in this terror attack.
"Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike,” wrote Gambhir in his X post.
