India's stand-in captain Virat Kohli was all riled up during the last Test match against Australia after the dismissal of Steven Smith. The batter was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna when he was batting on four runs. Smith fell short of one run before completing his 10000 runs in Test cricket. However, after his dismissal, Kohli pulled up a 'sandpaper' celebration in front of the crowd to tease them.
He put his hands in his pant pockets and showed them that he has nothing in it. It was a funny gesture by the player as he is heated up with the way Indian bowlers are delivering in the game.
Australia are 91 runs away from winning the BGT series after ten years. Travis Head and Usman Khawaja are the batters who were batting before lunch. With Bumrah out of the field, India will be dependent on Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj to bowl well and help the team draw the series. This is an important game for India as well since they want to qualify for the WTC 2025 finals.
Not too much chance: Sunil Gavaskar
Former India batter Sunil Gavaskar has opened up on the team missing Jasprit Bumrah in the final inningsas he is unfit. The player went to the doctors to take a quick scan and know whether he would be able to bowl in the game. Gavaskar feels there's very little chance of India winning the game without Bumrah.
"Not too much (chance). Without Jasprit Bumrah, it’s going to be very difficult for India to win the Test match. I’m not saying it’s impossible as funny things have happened in cricket. Prasidh Krishna, after a disappointing first spell, came back brilliantly to get rid of Steve Smith and Alex Carey. If he bowls the way he did maybe he can be effective, but you need Bumrah for the initial breakthroughs. Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh may not have the same effect that Bumrah will bring," Sunil Gavaskar.
