Rajasthan Royals (RR) ended their IPL 2025 season on a high after beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by six wickets. At one stage, it seemed like RR were running away with the game but CSK bowlers fought back with three wickets in the space of 14 balls. Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad left RR batter Riyan Parag clueless after dismissing him for three runs.

The incident happened in the fourth ball of the 16th over with Noor Ahmad bowling over the wicket. Ahmed bowled delivered the ball outside the off stump and Parag got a faint edge off his bat back onto the stumps. The 23-year-old heard the death rattle as Ahmad got his first wicket of the game. Parag could only give a helpless look after losing his wicket in what is Rajasthan Royals’ final game of the season.
Earlier in the day, CSK were asked to bat first and scored 187 on the board from their 20 overs. Ayush Mhatre was the best batter for his side with 43 runs while Dewald Brevis scored 42 off 25 balls. Shivam Dube chipped in with 39 runs to help CSK out of the woods after losing half the side with the score reading 78. The best bowler for RR was Yudhvir Singh Charak who picked three wickets.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi leads RR to morale boosting win
Yashasvi Jaiswal began the chase with a four in his very first ball of the innings. The left-handed batter then found his groove scoring 36 off just 19 balls which contained five boundaries and two sixes. Anshul Kamboj got the key wicket of Jaiswal to give CSK the much-needed breakthrough.
Sanju Samson and Vaibhav Suryavanshi joined forces to add 98 runs for the second wicket in 58 balls. Both batters played exquisite shots to put pressure on CSK’s bowlers. MS Dhoni got in his veteran spin ace Ashwin to break the stand and the 38-year-old got both the set batters in a space of four balls. Sanju Samson was the first man out for 41 caught by Dewald Brevis.
Suryavanshi fell for 57 caught by Ravindra Jadeja while attempting a huge hit. The left-handed batter scored his runs off 33 balls with four boundaries and four sixes. Dhruv Jurel was not out on 31 off just 12 balls two fours and three sixes. Jurel hit the winning shot for six to ensure Chennai stayed bottom of the table with one game left.
