India's current star batter Nitish Kumar Reddy has announced himself to international cricket by scoring a blistering century against the mighty Aussies at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne. It was a fruitful knock that saved India from a blunder in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. In the Boxing Day Test match, the Andra Pradesh player scored 114 runs before getting out on the fourth day.
The 21-year-old player opened up on his bowling performance where he hasn't been much impressive. He said, "My expectation was to be a pure all-rounder. I know still I need to work a little bit more on my bowling. I'm still not happy with the way I'm bowling. I hope I come back strong. I want to fulfil that all-rounder slot in the coming days."
The player almost saved the game for India as the visitors now require 340 runs to win the game and script history at the MCG. Jasprit Bumrah claimed his third fifer of the series making him the greatest bowler in format. It wss Lyon and Scoot Boland's partnership which brought back Australia into the game on day four. Now, the Indians have to build partnerships among each other and win the game. .

Nitish Reddy spoke about the pitch and why the batters are struggling much. He was straightforward with his answer, saying that 'Everyone is capable of playing on this pitch'. He urged everyone to keep supporting them since he said they'd rectify their mistakes and come back strong.
"If you ask me, I think everyone is capable of playing on this pitch, there is no one not capable of playing and we will come back strong. What we have done in the first innings, we will rectify the mistakes, we will rectify to correct it in the second innings and we will look at it. We have to first take the last wicket and then we will plan accordingly, Said Nitish Reddy.
